Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

First of all,I would like to tell about our Valley, which is called as 'Golden Valley'. Actually it's name is 'Fergana Valley'. It consists of 3 regions: Fergana, Andijan and Namangan. These three regions are very accommodative for agriculture and for cotton planting. The cotton is the main crop in the area and simbolically called as 'White Gold', it gives to valley the name 'Golden Valley'. There is another version of this opinion: Because of many people say that our Valley is paradisiacally beautiful it's praised as 'Golden Valley'. Our school is situated in the center of Asaka city in 'Cho'ntak' area. 'Cho'ntak' is translated into English as a 'Pocket'. This strange name was given to this area because from the hills it looks like a delve. if to tell about Asaka city, there are many things what can be acossiated with the name of Asaka city. It's hospitable people of , it's famous cuisine 'Cho'ntak choyhona' where is kept a recipe of a delicious meal of beaf, it's machine building plant UZDAEWOOAUTO where prodused very comfortable vehicles of various types.

2. Summary of Our Project

Our site is about the local 'Pottery' and a master who keeps secrets of ceramic making.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

It was hard to translate all materials into English. Many materials were so difficult to translate and we used simpole words during translation.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We hope that our site will be interesting for other people and it will give interesting information about this art craft.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This site can give historical materials for pupils. We learned to make a web site, to make an interview, to work in a group.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

1. computers pentium III 2.Telefon for getting inquiries 3.Digital cameras for taking pictures 4.Scanner for scanning pictures from books. 5.Libraries for collecting information on the theme. museums to get to know the history of this art craft. 6.Interview local master orally, wrote all talk on a notebook.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

They asked for a help all people who could help them in collecting materials. Our site impressed young and old. Everybody were interested on the site. And we got many thanks from our local master Abdumannop aka.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Our project will give a new inspiration to people who is interested in and not interested in Pottery. All our community members are interested in the results. They learned that being a craftsmen is not bad, It's still interesting to young generation.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Many people helped us. Teachers, community members, pupils. We are afraid forgetting somebody during counting, that's why we don't write their names.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We discovered that in the history cities like Samarkand nad Tashkent were the centres were lived many famous masters of ceramic. we learned of many interesting facts about ceramic.
