1. Description of Our Team

Our team is compose by: Ana A.C , Mariana Roxana L. and our teacher Larisa B. We have 17 years, and we are students of the Colegiul National “Octav Bancila” from Iasi, Romania. We find out by this project from our teacher Larisa B., who participates last years with another team in another high school. This project seems to us very interesting and seems to offers us an opportunity to do something for us. Our teacher Larisa B. presents this idea in and we made our subscription at the contest. Between 6 and 11 February we have been searching for books, pictures and old documents for the biography. At 10 February we make the photos of National Theatre, and at 11-12 February we made the graphic for the site. Between 13 and 19 February we wrote all the documents of the computer and 20 February and 3 March we made the web site. Ana A.C. My jobs at this web site were: - I made the web site in two languages and I translated all the information’s in English - I also made the graphic and I managed the technical problems at the web site. - I do all the photography’s for the site - I wrote documents at the computers - I bundied the web-site. Mariana Roxana L. My jobs at this web site were:

- I wrote some documents at the computers - I was helping Ana to find information for the web site and to established their place - I kept our journal

2. Summary of Our Project

We have chosen this subject because it is a very interesting to show from another country another perspective on an old theatre. In an artistic way how we might be able to understand how complex the ideas of one man can be. Our theatre is a copy of Scala, from Milan and is adapted for our Romanian country.

We have a laboratory were we made our lection at different objects with Internet access, but we have 30 computers at 1500 students. We work mostly at home from this cause.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Ana: I have proven to function well in a team by prioritizing two aspects: ‘get organized’ and ‘double check information’. I found using internet sources really helpful in collecting information. A good project implies using various sources both from my country but also from abroad. Such a technique will ensure more acknowledging a multiple viewpoints especially on historic data. Mariana-Roxana. I have proven to be a reliable team player. Using the internet did not distort the information and therefore the materials we have prepared in any way.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Our participation to the Doors to Diplomacy project helps us to established new connection between students and our local personalities. My colleges help us more now and we established new relation with them. With this project we established a new connection with other teams of another countries and we better understand their culture and habits.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our project combined art, literature, arts of photography and making films. Our High School is an arts school, and we are students of a acting class. We study history of the arts and for that we thing that our project combined wishes with required school. Ana A.C . - I have realized I am talented to create web pages Mariana- Roxana L. - While working for the present project I realized I love looking for and selecting information; I have proven to function well in a team by prioritizing two aspects: ‘get organized’ and ‘double check information’. This project makes us to find better ideas from the optional curriculum from the following years of studding and propose to our teachers for study. Our community is very interested in our ideas and supported us. For example we make a poster for our school and speak to our colleges and to press about our project. More we put an announcement about our project to our site school www.cnaob.is.edu.ro. About using Internet, is hard to say but I found using internet sources really helpful in collecting information.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We have used a Canon Professional EOS 20D camera and a not so highly advanced one, Ben Q DCS40,also a Sony digital movie camera. The photographs taken at the National Theatre, which are under Photo gallery, are taken with the professional camera. I used the other one for the scanned documents. We also use libraries, books, newspapers, and museum. All this tools were ours; we don’t have any of those tools at school. In Romania the system is poor and don’t permit to the manager of the school to invest in those materials. My most valuable tools were Canon Professional EOS 20D camera and also a Sony digital movie camera because with this we give our site personality and we make the final touch.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We hope that we are an 'ambassador” of our culture and we hope to see all the people what we have best in our city. Culture is very important for a country and gives personality to their people. Our actors, Romanian actors play in Hollywood, example: Maia Morgenstein, Marcel Iures, why didn’t another country actor’s dint play at Romanian theatre? We think if this actor sees the opportunities than they will understand that is possible. Our web site is creating especially for students, or people to another a city or country who wants to see our Theatre, or to understand our culture. Iasi is the cultural capital of Romania and we try to demonstrate that. Our colleges like the web site and also our teachers. What has been the impact of your project on your community? Our project make a different for our class because we discuss with our teachers in class our ideas and our colleges learn more about National theatre from Iasi. The students from our high school, Colegiul National “Octav Bancila “ learn more from the poster put on the hall of the high school, from the web site of the school, were we put an announcement, or from our discussion with them . We make a survey at the beginning of the work to the site and at the final, and from the results we find out that they learn more from the discussion with our teachers. We established relations with the system engineer of our school, with actors from the theater, with the newspaper man, with our school manager and almost all the school students. Our parents and the colleges parents support us with technical material and our teacher promised us to use our city to the next year optional “ Iasi, a city to remember”. Our colleges from 12 th grade use our site to make their theme to their optional history and they have greats calefactive

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We believe that this project will have an important impact to the people of our city because The national Theatre “V. Alecsandri” is one of the most loved institution of Iasi. On another way we hope that this web site will get attentions from the administration of our city because his building is in reconstruction. We hope that the public opinion will have a point of view.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We worked mostly alone at this project; we have a beet of help from our teachers misses Blanaru and misses Perju. We have to address special thanks to system engineer of our school because he gives us some free space to the web site of the school. From Internet we find out some information and for that we think that the Internet is “the eight a wonder of the world”.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We have realized that we have talent to create web pages and we like to do this. Unfortunately the Romanian school system doesn’t permit that because we don’t have a material base for that. We don’t have Internet access in our classroom and most of our colleges don’t have Internet access or computers at home. We find out more information about our city, theater and surprise about our colleges. We have participated at the contest “Virtual history “were we take the forth place. Our site then wasn’t ready to contest, but we want to try to see if our idea has an impact to the public. Now our site is better because we make some modification and we put more things.
