1. Description of Our Community
Nankang is located in the southeast of the Taipei Basin, south bank of downstream Keelung River, and north of the Nankang Hill. It is called Nankang, the south harbor in Chinese, because the bay-shaped border between Nankang and Shihjyr forms a nature harbor and because it is located in the south of the Keeling River.
Besides the Nankang Software Park which is a very potential area to the public, the Academia Sinica which brings the sense of culture and academics is located in the district. The Hu Shih Park in the district is not only adjacent to the JZES, Hu Shih was also the promoter of the school. Consequently, we were motivated to conduct an in-depth investigation of this great philosopher in modern China.
2. Summary of Our Project
Inside the Hu Shih Park there are the Hu Shih Mausoleum, the Tung Tso-pin Mausoleum, the Wu Ta-you Monument, and old staff of the Academia Sinica. Though there are mausoleums of many great figures in the intellectual history of China, they are unlike conventional mausoleums of such kind. In fact, they are humble and simplistic, giving us a quiet and elegant feeling. More importantly, they are friendly to approach.
l In addition to drawing up a guide for visiting the park attractions in terms of a trail to facilitate people to visit the park, we have visited the Hu Shih Memorial Hall, the Museum of the Institute of History and Philology, the Wu Ta-you Memorial Hall in the Academia Sinica to understand more about life and stories of these great philosophers, scholars and scientists in order to bring something spiritual to visitors on their visit to the park for leisure.

5. Our Project Sound Bite
From this project, we discovered that there are so many great people, things and events are related to out daily life. These great philosophers, scholars and scientists had great lives that earned our respect. After every interview, the interviewees must encourage us to learn from these great figures. There are so many touching stories about the Hu Shih Park which is adjacent to our school. This makes us feel very proud and special. I believe that we will value and cherish all these and will work harder and harder in our future.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
1.Course connection ? Connection with the 9-year integrated curriculum include Language domain ,Social domain, Integrated domain ,Nature domain.
2.Concern for homeland
We have nearly traveled every corner of the Hu Shih Park, visited all memorial halls near the school that can provide us information, and interviewed these places and people there. Before the interviews, we needed to prepare the questions we would ask, the thank you cards, the cameras and the gears. It was very busy. However, Miss Laing always took us to these places from the school’s backdoor via the Hu Shih Park. Each time we walked through the park laughing and chatting, we understood more about the park and loved it more. In fact, we are proud of the characteristics in the school’s neighborhood.
