Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Iligan City East High School is one of the secondary public high school in the Division of Iligan City. A total of 1,980 students currently enrolled in this school with approximately 45 teachers. Our school is situated in the industrial zone of Iligan City.

2. Summary of Our Project

Youth for Environment in School Organization is a nation wide organization headed by the Department of Education. This youth ornaginazation aims to promote environmental awaress among the young, encourage community particiaption, design program of activities that leads to conservation, rehabilitation and protection of the encironment. Through its mandated activities, the youth are given an opportunity to act in their own level on how to take actions towards the mitigation of non environmental friendly man made activities.

Internet access in the locality is for fee. At our school the internet access is very slow and it takes time for us doing our project to be completed in a specified time.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Despite of the lack of resources available, the do their part to make some alternatives to complete this time bound project. Since the team have limited knowledge on web page designing, assistance for a more knowledgeable person was called for.

'Small is Beautiful' The YES-O Club in our school do their part in the betterment of the students and in the school

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This project try to showcase how local school organization be able to make a diffirence for the betterment of the environment where we are in.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Self-directed students, resposible leaders and political will of the officers makes this project into its full realisation.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

During the conduct of the different activites the students make some communications for approval from the higher up, convencincing the importance of their proposed activities, do arrangements for possible sponsorship from the local stakeholders.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The YES-O club will be the led in promoting environmental awareness in the locality.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Some of the YES-O activities are sponsored by the local government units, non government organization and other benefactors of the society.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Through interest in doing things really makes a significant learning.
