1. Description of Our Community
Because of the study, students can investigate the Anthurium deeply. Students devote his time to the acquisition of knowledge. The most important thing is we can build up student’s confidences from the research process. We are local in Nei- Men, Kaohsiung County. People are simplicity. We have developed education network by limit resource and exporters from local. It can broaden the school lesson and the student’s horizon. Our community has a lot of crops such as longan, litchi and thorny bamboo. School is part of the community. We should always collaborate with them to glory the local feature.
2. Summary of Our Project
Jing Yi elementary invites the community to cooperate with us. At first we investigate the industry of Anthurium. And we walk into the community to contact with famer. We have understood the development and feature of Anthurium. We have a little garden. Through the practical experience students know the growth environment and structure of Anthurium. We combine the farmer’s experience and teacher’s expertise to design a new lesson for students. Students can understand the local industry and the living environment by the interview and the practical experience

We have a computer classroom in school and there are about 16 computers. Students are free to use them during the break time and connect the world via the internet provided by school. The internet signal is stable and school provides enough space for us to use. It also helps a lot during the winter break because not every of us has internet at home but even so, there were still a few students using the internet at home for more detail.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Contact and interview: To have a better idea of the project, we were zealous for contacting each great chef by phone and also the volunteer mothers put a lot of work on it but because of the busy schedule, most of the interviewees couldn’t promise. Here we want to thank each one who had helped us and therefore, we can’t treat it lightly. For the website making: We did spend a lot of time deciding the structure and toolbar for a better link and interface. We discussed each question, tested every color on words, designed different kinds of bottoms and backgrounds etc…. We went through many problems especially using the software; we did have a hard time on it. Thanks for teacher’s help and finally we did get it done and had an outstanding website.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Nei Men Township in Kaohsiung County is famous for the Anthurium and during the interviews, we were shocked to know that the cultivators needed to do many works and it was really a hard job and we never knew this before the interview. Slowly, we learnt more about the job and the details by interviewing them and found out that they worked hard and were responsible. I don’t think we can easily take and understand what they had put on their shoulders but step by step, we learnt and knew more and also realized how happy I am and this would be a biggest lesson I’ve learnt from this project.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
The purpose of Nine-Year Joint Curricula Plan is to make the education more adaptable to strengthen the share resources network of family, school and community. As a part of the community, we should put more efforts on advertising my hometown and inspiring habitant’s willing to learn, organize and improve the ability of adaptation. But what we had tough at school couldn’t really find out if students need help or run into troubles. In a high tech age now, Internet can reach everywhere and through this research project, we could prove the Information Education of Nine-Year Joint Curricula Plan helps students to learn in an equitable environment-means the better information you have, the better result you get. So students are learning in an education environment of ability, not intelligence. So we use the ability of getting knowledge, doing research, analyzing and organizing to realize the ideal of reaching everywhere. No matter in class or in life, teacher always teaches us to help people, care the community and this time, doing the project of Anthurium, helps to know more about the community.
