Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Our school, Fu Cheng Senior High School, is located in Fengshan district, Kaohsiung. The transportation here is convenient. A pedestrian road beside Cian Jhen River is neighboring our school. The MRT station, Cian Jeng Senior High school, is quite close. There are also many restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Therefore, it is with all the benefits of basic necessities of life. For all the reasons, the population in Wu Chia District, also where our school is located, is increasing. It is a new growing community.

2. Summary of Our Project

The theme of our research is “the historical heritage of Fengshan.” During the time of Japanese’s governing in Taiwan, Kaohsing had been growing and once was the most prosperous city of southern Taiwan. Due to its large quantity of population and a variety of ethnic groups, many historical sites, temples or monuments are left. All these contribute to the aboundance of our cultural contents in Fengshan. Through the website we construct, we hope the readers understand more about the history of Fengshan and learn to cherish and protect it.

We don't have many computer to this project.And The internet of our school is not very fast. We don't have many computer classroom.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Multimedia Computer Classrooms and Language labs (2 for each). Classrooms equipped with devices for Internet access and MOD watching. The good-shaped library houses sufficient volumes with automatic computerized management for easy checking-out books. The regular?spacious and bright reading rooms supply good studying places for students.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In fact, there is a difference between new and old from Fengshan City? All the problems are resolved one by one in the teacher's help, and a well developed network.In fact, there is a difference between new and old from Fengshan City? 6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The combination of courses as follows: Language: project presentation, information searching. Mathematics: the questionnaire designing, thematic structure editing. Society: map editing, to understand Fengshan monuments on the significance of the local residents, to know the history and development of the various monuments. Information: to use editing photos and videos of related software, text file editing, to create web pages Software Application. Arts and Humanities: page layout, photo retouching and beautifying background music. Comprehensive: interview etiquette, team spirit of cooperation, problem-solving abilities. Environment: Understanding of the local environment , environment-friendly behaviors, and caring of the environment

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

How to play a role as Cyberfair ambassador or spokesman? To become ambassador, of course, we have to have the ability to do Ambassador need, Therefore, in the process of researching through the Internet and on-site interviews, we gradually understand the local culture, and this understanding is brought to life.Further, it affects the family and friends and its effect continues. Hope that not only the local residents understand Fengshan history, but also all people in Taiwan have a better understanding of the people and cultures around the world.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

this thematic studies let us learn how to create web pages, edit photos, audios and videos, and also let more people know about the local culture.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The most important is that we are able to school to learn to play application, and even learn more, this is a very valuable experience.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Not to mention the many software programs are the first time we used. This is really a very new and special experience for us.
