Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Lanzhou was founded in 86 bc. According to the record, the gold was dug when the city was built in the first time, so it was named GOLD city. Lanzhou is the only provincial capital city which crossed the Yellow River, and the city was situated at the foot of a hill and beside a stream, forming a unique and beautiful city landscape. In order to highlight the characteristics of landscape city, comprehensive development project about the two mountains landscape and customs of the Yellow River tourism line is currently implemented, to blend the 40 kilometers of cross-strait bridge and road in the Yellow River, embankment building reinforcement, shipping of river dredging, tourist attractions development, architectural style of the city and City beautification flawlessly together, put the Silk Road culture, the Yellow River cultural and ethnic cultures in it.

2. Summary of Our Project

Waterwheel is the oldest agricultural irrigation tools in China, it is the superb skill which was created by people in the process of conquering the world, and it is a precious historical and cultural heritage. By this project research, we learned to cooperate with others, and understood the Lanzhou waterwheel is the intangible cultural heritage, we should protect and carry forward them.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We are lack of experience because it is the first time to participate in the competition.

Through the communication of teacher Zhang Yinghua and teacher Lv Qing online, let the students understand the contest.Each student is a novice, computer skills are different, mutual communication and computer skills are less.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

As a staff, I have the following feelings on this activity:

1, attention, careful preparation, preparation is in place.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

With the development of the compulsory education curriculum reform, the cultivation of students' innovation spirit and practice ability has been paid more and more attention by schools, teachers, parents and society. We take Lanzhou water tankers as the research object, hope that through exploring the related problems about Chinese culture and Lanzhou waterwheel and production of website, to lead the students to out of the classroom teaching of traditional school, let the students go into the community and feel the society, to participate in social practice, to develop social practice of students, social adaptation ability, cooperation ability; through the correct guidance of teachers, to guide the students to learn the thematic studies, simple exploration, experience and explore fun, so in the course of the study, in addition to display the research achievements of students on the website, through this topic, we expect students learn to cooperate together, let them know Lanzhou waterwheel is the intangible cultural heritage, we should protect and carry forward them.

Through practical investigation and inquiry, we have introduced ancient waterwheel in Lanzhou to the world, promoted the development of local tourism.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The development of tourism industry in Lanzhou is undoubtedly has a certain role to the local economy in promoting, 'the capital of waterwheel' attracts more and more visitors.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our work has better promoted tourist resources of 'the capital of waterwheel'.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Through the independent study, the students use existing knowledge and experience to solve problems, to learn how to learn, to cultivate the humanistic spirit and scientific literacy. In a hands-on process, they learned knowledge and mastered some basic skills of information technology.
