Cishan was called 'Fan Shu Liau' before, and was very suitable for banana cultivation in agriculture. According to the records, Cishan’s cultivation of banana started from 1925. Cishan was ever known as 'Banana Kingdom' because it grew many good-quality bananas. In Cishan, in addition to its good bananas, sugar business (sucrose made from Cane) had brought great profits from the Japanese colonial era to the post-war era. Today, Cishan’s sugar mill has mainly turned into tourist attraction for ice selling. In Cishan, there are many historical monuments and delicious snacks.
