1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?
To finish our website, and we want to make it fantastic, we use PCs, USBs, and digital cameras. And for the sofware, we edit the webpages and data collecting with Microsft Frontpage, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsfot Word 2003, and Skype. These tech tool help us exchange the information quickly. We also have learned a lot through observing other students operating thess machines or editing on a software.
2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
After knowing the projrct, the owners of the Dr. Kukulu's Shelter want us to pay a visit to thier park. At there, we had a profound interview. We brought many questions and datas we have collected to them. Thus, we had so many details about owls and how to save them.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
We have deeply experienced the love and passion to owls of Mr. and Mrs. Fans'. In this project, our web site, people can not only see the work the Fan has done but also realize how the owls are closely connected with our daily life. We want not just introduce this beautiful creature. We are trying to save the species on our land.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
There are many people we need to thank, due to their valuable data. However, the name we must mention is Ming-Jin Liu. She has dedicated into the shelter so much and to the owls of course. She showed the greatest patience to us while we were asking every detail about her story. She is an authentic owl-lover.
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
Before this project, some of our team members did not know there are owls aroud us in Taiwan. After many interviews and data collecting, we gradually understand the different types of owls and their habits. Most important of all, the ecological concept we have learned during this project, we really want to spread these message to people, especially to local people. The owls have been exsited in this land for a long time. Even some aboringinal tribes have the legacy or tales about them. We are worried about that legacy cannot be passed, which means, our surrounding could be no longer exsits.
