Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

“Cheng-Kung Green Camping Place for Learning” located in Bagua Terrace Ground in Changhua County. Originally a laid-aside military camp, now “Cheng-Kung Green Camping Place for Learning” is a successful case of the reuse of idling place and the vitalization of urban green place that can maintain the biodiversity. Having linked up the original Changhua Bagua Mountain Scenic Resort, the camping place has grown into a more complete route for recreation.

We met a lot of difficulties including choosing the category, forming the initial concept, job allocation, web pages building and usage of technologies. But these hurdles pushed us to think about the solutions. In the beginningwe argued over choosing the category for applying the Cyberfair; some teammates thought it should be 'Local Attractions'; others thought it should be 'Historical Landmarks'; the rest of us thought it is 'Environmental Awareness.'When we made our choice on the category,we analyzed the topic, learned to discuss with effectiveness and conclude ideas.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our project is a dynamic progress. We gathered all the reference and compiled it into the project; besides, we visited Green Garden Camping Place many times. We studied the past, present and future of Green Camp step by step, from initial visit, training for being park guide to organizing interviews and activities for promoting. We arranged all the notes and references after school, designed commemorative stamp, held speech for promoting the Park and preparing for being voluntary guide; the things we made may be small but full of sincerity and passion. We hope we can make more people know this beautiful park. In the core value of Cyberfair, 'Share ideas via the internet', the local distinctions and organizations from the global can gain more recognition via the internet. The internet can eliminate the physical gaps among the countries and expands people's horizons. Therefore, We believe that Cheng-Kong Office Park, the historic military camp can be seen through our project.

The dorms are reused as classrooms; parade ground becomes Bugs' Grass Ground; the scenic trails are built by natural land form in the Park. The space in the Park is turned into the place for family trip. This changes surprise us, which makes us want to recommend this wonderful green land to the public.
