4. Problems We Had To Overcome
During the period of CyberFair, we had several challenges that we faced while doing the project. We took some time to brainstorm in our small group for ideas of designing the webpage . After that, we took some time todeal with coordination and typesetting. In addition, we also faced challenges of collaborating within a large group of people, and finding time to do the project together. The main obstacle for us is TIME. We need time to learn and be familiar with new softwares, to discuss the project, to carry out interview, to write manuscripts, to edit the webpage, and questionnaire survey. In order to finish the work on time, we spent lunch hours together, sometimes even stayed after school, or carry on the discussion via email or Facebook while at home. Aside from the school days, we also have to work during weekends and even winter vacation.Everyone had gained a lot from the Cyberfair:for students, it is not just pure research, but also a lesson of cooperation, stress balancing, and time management. For our team , it meant honor and an intellectual challenge.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Participating in this competition makes us learn a lot. What I gained most from over the course of three months of research and interviews is that I conquered my fear of talking to strangers for interviews. After many failures, I once thought of giving up but my team encouraged me, so I finished many questionnaires. CyberFair project involves activities which require the integration of our learning in the following fields: Research, Social Studies, Questionnaire survey, Educational excursion, English, and active experience. We used the Dreamweaver software to build the website, translated Chinese into English, and improved our English ability. We learned how to list the questions before conducting a Chinese interview. We also learned how to make plan event. And how to work together to complete the case project.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
Our school expects students to have the ability of independent research, group cooperation, as well as planning and organizing. We have applied skills we have to learning in school to CyberFair . During the process, we have recongnized the importance of group cooperation and withessed a cross-disciplinary combination of language ,socid stuies ,fine art science and technology. This Cyberfair ,we'd like with international exchange , and the characteristics of tourism resources in the Tainan Science Park share to more people.
