1. Description of Our Community
Muntinlupa City, also known as the “Emerald City,” is a Highly Urbanized City (HUC) located in the southern area of the Philippines’ National Capital Region (NCR). While being an urbanized community that promotes technological innovation, the city also prioritizes and maintains green spaces and eco-friendly living. Adhering with its mission to advance holistic development and to provide equitable social services, the city has been recognized as one of the premier recreation and sports development hubs in NCR. This title proves to be true as many agencies, infrastructures, and projects are catered towards improving the development and skills of the youth in terms of leadership, sports, academics, and many more. The focus of the city on protecting and developing the youth led to it earning the seal of Child Friendly Local Governance in 2024.
2. Summary of Our Project
The MunTEEN Center in Muntinlupa City is a youth-focused facility established by the Muntinlupa City Population Development Office (MCPDO) to empower and support teenagers through different programs and services. It aims to promote youth leadership, provide educational opportunities, raise awareness about essential issues like mental health and reproductive health, and empower personal and community development. The unique approach lies in its collaboration with schools and organizations, providing customized programs to cater to the specific needs of Muntinlupa's youth. By creating a safe, inclusive space, it has the potential to inspire young individuals to develop their skills, engage with their communities, and become active contributors to society. The MunTEEN Center encourages creativity, collaboration, and a sense of unity among young people, fostering a generation that is both innovative and socially connected.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
The day after the interview, we received a notification from the Medical Department that there have been cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease in our school. This disease forced most of the members of the team to shift to Virtual Online Learning and Teaching Modality. In return, there was a sense of “crunch time” that affected our team – dismantling the gantt chart and delaying our deadlines towards the very end.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Participating in International Schools Cyberfair gave us the opportunity to create something meaningful for our community as it showcases the MunTEEN Center, a unique and helpful part of Muntinlupa City. We are not only creating something digital but we are also given the opportunity to create a more united community that promotes development and individuality of the youth in our city.
Working with the school and the city government allowed our team to become more united in our community since we were able to truly be a part of and learn about the city’s efforts to promote the passion to create, the love for learning, and the honing of artistic and academic skills for children in Muntinlupa City.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
The content standards our Cyberfair project addressed is the ability of our team members and organizers to spread awareness about the facilities Muntinlupa City has in order to provide support and development for children and youth. We did so from the knowledge we gained from research and interviews and by practicing the philosophy, mission, and vision of our school. Our school’s philosophy is related to our project as it’s about Excellence in Service and Hearts of Service. By promoting institutions dedicated to serving the youth and acting as a space for them to develop and prioritize a healthy well-being, we are not only fitting the philosophy of our school but also adhering to Muntinlupa city’s vision of equipping the youth with holistic development and having citizens ready to give back their community.
