Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The surrounding communities of these sites certainly bear the marks of their own pasts. With the Clarke Museum in Pampanga, there is a strong American cultural influence to be felt, an indication of the past use of the place as an airbase. To Kawit, Cavite, the Aguinaldo Mansion community is characterized by a persistent nationalist sentiment, strongly rooted in the revolutionary past. To Malolos, Bulacan, the Barasoain Church and the Museum of Philippine Political History (Casa Real Shrine) are both situated within a community that takes great pride in its role within the First Philippine Republic, actively working towards the preservation of its heritage. Intramuros in Manila is a living mix of history and urban living, while the varied assemblages of Luneta Park are a manifestation of the nation's shared identity, a community center where people from various backgrounds converge.

2. Summary of Our Project

This educational tour offers a chronological journey through key moments in Philippine history, from the revolutionary era to the legacies of colonialism and the establishment of the republic. By visiting significant sites like the Aguinaldo Mansion, Barasoain Church, Intramuros, and Luneta Park, participants gain a deeper understanding of the nation's past and its enduring impact on the present, while the Clarke Museum provides insight into the more modern American influence on the country.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:more than 6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

As a student participating in this project, my primary computer access comes from my personal laptop, as mandated by our school's 'one-to-one' device policy. This allows for seamless integration of technology into our learning process. For this tour, I utilized my laptop for research, note-taking, and documentation of our experiences. Internet access, crucial for accessing online resources and historical databases, was primarily through my home Wi-Fi and mobile data. Having a personal device facilitated independent learning and collaborative work during the tour, enhancing our ability to engage with the historical sites and information.
