Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

In the AI technology society, we have deep feelings for our hometown Zuoying and hope to do something for the community. Taking on the mission is our original intention. Our computer teacher and English teacher are happy to help us. All team members were divided into several groups, and each group was assigned different tasks: photography, interviews; website design; Chinese editing; and English translation. After arranging the working time, we started working. Our project content includes the following parts: introduction; lotus pond, several famous monuments, temples, and historical sites; military family village; favorite food; green environment. We have also listed the following sections for reference by all website viewers: Narrative; Videos; Bibliography; Site Map. We felt so much pressure while doing each part that we almost forgot all the difficulties and felt happy because we learned a lot from it. Most importantly, we are truly committed to doing something for the community.

2. Summary of Our Project

Kaohsiung is a beautiful city in Taiwan. The weather here is always nice and the air is nice. Located at the southern end of Taiwan's high-speed rail line. Kaohsiung has many famous monuments and temples with a long history. You can learn about the life stories and cultural heritage of our ancestors. In addition, the largest Confucius Temple in Taiwan is located in Zuoying. There are also a variety of delicious dishes and snacks that are sure to satisfy your appetite. We hope to better understand the importance and history of Zuoying and introduce the customs and culture of Zuoying to people. Additionally, we hope we can understand the meaning and value of our community.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:4-6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

For this competition, we encountered difficulties, as before. First, schedule a visit. How to complete the interview within a very limited time, collect all the information needed for our research, and at the same time leave a good impression on the Zuoying community in Kaohsiung. We not only divided into several groups to prepare corresponding questions for the interview, but also practiced possible situations that may arise during the interview process. We also asked the teacher to help take photos and videos to record the complete process of this event. The second difficulty was that we had a lot of information about Kaohsiung and Zuoying, but we felt it wasn't enough to touch people's hearts, so we started interviewing local people to give us more stories about Zuoying and its historical monuments.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

While participating in the International CyberFaire, we realized that good teamwork is very important. When we encounter any problem, we can find the answer together, or seek AI answers. CyberFair really brings us closer and allows more people to understand our country and beautiful campus. I think this is very meaningful.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Because of AI, the burden of making web pages can be reduced. Through the production of CyberFair, we can learn a lot of things that we usually cannot learn in the classroom, such as work allocation, time utilization, etc. We also understand that work is not an easy thing. Subject research is a learning method that is different from formal teaching in schools. Because everyone may get different results, it depends on how hard you work. Through research, we have more experience than others. There are also practical applications in web page production, data collection, data layout, and teamwork. These are personal experiences that require effort, so what you get is very valuable.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

In terms of using AI in website design skills, we reduce the use of software such as PhotoImpact, Canva, Mobirise4, and FileZilla. To gather information, we looked online and read many books in the library. We also arranged interviews with Kaohsiung City Councilor Chen Meijuan, village chiefs Mr. Liu and Mr. Wu, and conducted interviews with councilors, village chiefs, tourist service centers and local residents. We also interacted with some tourists while taking photos. In photography, our teachers taught us how to take high-quality photos and how to use computer tools to enhance the beauty of the photos.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

1. Some enthusiastic locals are willing to be our guides and take us to the places we plan to go. 2. Some older locals introduced us to the historical stories of the monuments here. So we get information unexpectedly. 3. Someone enthusiastically provided relevant information and told us stories about the heritage spots. 4. Residents of some places also visited some places with us, which made our visit go smoothly. 5. In addition to Ms. Chen Meijuan, we need many local people whose full names are not known to complete this work. They are like our neighbors and friends. Thank you so much.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We have integrated local tourist information and history into our website. Influence each other through interviews with local people. When they know we are working on this project. They were happy to help us learn more about Kaohsiung. Introduced us to some valuable historical monuments. On our website, you can find a lot of food information about Kaohsiung, as well as explore historical sites and taste delicious food. So we also put this useful information on our Facebook and tell our friends. We found that some people showed interest in our website and became friends with us on Facebook. Some people even left us some good feedback or suggestions. We are more than happy to share our opinions.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Some students in our group have relatives living in Zuoying and Cijin, Kaohsiung. This way they can ask for more useful information. When some vendors know that we are introducing their history or culture to tourists and foreigners. They agreed to be interviewed without hesitation. We are very grateful for their help.
