Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

My name is Ali Hassan and my partner name is Omer Bedier both 18 and we joined together because we were like brothers and Omer was a computer expert and I was agood researcher so I had to search the web and books and we write the articles Then he put them on the web site

2. Summary of Our Project

Our project talks about how religion Islam Fought vices and put rules to stop them from spreading 14 centuries ago. And it shows that absolute freedom (in another way) can lead to a complete disaster. It mentions someterrifying statistics about sex in some countries which allow adultery which leads them to some serious Diseases for example (AIDS/HIV). And it shows that Islam by making women wears the Islamic uniform like (Hijab) was a protecting to them and maintaining their dignity and pride. And we mention Islam's solutions to adultery. Finally we mention some of Islam Legislation like divorce and polygamy And it shows legislation that the foreign countries shall put to solve this problem and it confirm the fact that no law gave women writes as the Islam done

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:2-3

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:1

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Our worst problem was the lack of time because me and Omar are in our final year in school which is a very difficult year by the way we have alot of homework in order to go to a fine college we used to work on the project in our spare time which wasn’t too much the second problem was translation to English so we had to ask a lot of elders and teachers to correct our mistakes

5. Our Project Sound Bite

This project Islam Vs. vices has increased our awareness of wrong actions which is being done in foreign countries and it shows clearly that freedom is not doing what you like without hurting others it’s doing what you like without hurting others or your self

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The purpose of our project was to compare between laws that can keep the community pure And in a good health indeed this project fit into your required state curriculum because we are in an Azhar school; which teach us Islamic jurisprudence which helped us on the project We learned a new skill which is team work and coordination with your team member and we learned how to make a website .although we didn’t have much time we were able to finish it because of the internet I don’t think that without the internet we would have made in time.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?

• We used 4 computer,1 IPhone, and an Acer laptop,asus,5100 Nikon cameraI had acomputer and Omar had 1computer,2 laptop 1 Ipad,1 IPhone, the laptop was very helpful too and we benefited of interviewing our teachers and so many things • In school They helped us with the topics headlines and gave us a lot of information which helped us a lot but the most important tool was the yahoo mail and Facebook which helped us a lot to communicate with each other and to send our work to each other

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

In online we made a Facebook page witch talked about our project we put there some of our topics and we display them for discussion and sometimes when we question our relative about our project and they mentioned That it’s a true problem and the solution were more than enough to end. This topics which we wrote had a lot of disagreement some told us not to mention the difference between religions and laws only and some told us that there was unnecessary information and they were right because at first our project was more than 30 pages thankfully it isn’t now.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

On the community side we were very surprised of the reaction about the project like I said earlier we have had a lot of encouraging option we used a lot of them to improve our project we changed a lot of idea in a lot of people minds like Islam gave the woman her full rights and that polygamy is a good solution and better than cheating on the wife and that divorce is a gift in some conditions and finally that mixing between men and women isn’t healthy.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Because of our subject have a lot of difficult our friends offered help to us they gave us a lot of information and a lot of advice, some if our teachers comment on some topics when we showed them the topics. When we were asking people for their opinion most of them didn’t mind at all.
