Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

Ayca, Bora, Meric and Ece are 12 and 13-year-old 7th grade students in Doga Schools. Our team decided this category as they are all interested in arts and want to show how art affects cultures to share. They made interviews with some actors, they took pictures, wrote the explanations and made researches. Adult coach is Tuba Goksun, their teacher.

2. Summary of Our Project

The project is about art's effect on culture and how it construct bridges between cultures. Additionally, we try to show why these art people are successful and appreciated.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dial-up modem

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We did not have any technical problems. The only problem is that It was hard to reach the actors to interview but our students did it finally.

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our cirriculum and school activities requires lot of art activities. Most of our students a have specific art field to specialize. They leant how to make an efficient research and how to build a website. They learnt the challanges in art. This project showed the steps to become successful in art.It is more effective to use the Internet than other traditional research methods since it is very fast and easy to access te information and one can reach whatever he looks for.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?

We used 5 computers for reseach and to build the website, and a camera to record the interviews. Both computer and camera were very useful for our research.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

Students learnt how to make an interview with an Actor and how to present their interview and findings.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Our project show the impact of art on cultures and how the culture constuct bridges between cultures. It also aims to show the steps through success in art.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Three actors helped us by participating interviews.
