Project Overview

1. Description of Our Team

Our group is composed of 4 leaders in their own simple ways. As residents of Baguio City, we were amazed on how our City Mayor had the determination in maintaining the city government in order. Since we were interested about their leadership secrets, we chose to work on this project.

Patricia M. (14) she is optimistic and responsible. For Pat, her priorities are well laid. Her bubbly attitude inspires us to focus on our project. Jade S. (15) is friendly and approachable. She is easy to be with that promotes positive relationship of our group to the people. Malaya W. (15) she is a sport-lover. Playing badminton is her hobby and she is good at it. She is artistic as well. Her being artistic can be used in lay outing the website. Monica C. (15) a hardworking person full of enthusiasm.

2. Summary of Our Project

Is leadership innate or acquired? This question triggered four third year high school students, ages 14 – 15 to work on a topic about leadership. Leadership can be defined as one’s ability to get others to willingly follow. Every organization needs good leaders so that everything will be work well. Our project is about the characteristics of a certain leader, particularly a City Mayor in leading his constituents. We want to show our appreciation by making this site that talks about his struggles to let his advocacy be known because of his great leadership. We decided to choose this project to further acknowledge this leader who was very willing to be interviewed despite his hectic schedule. This site will tell how this leader worked very well and make his people feel safe. This site will define the true leader that everyone is looking for . . . somebody who leads and listens to his constituents. In this project, we were tasked to produce a website that informs the skills, traits, and characteristics which mold an individual to be a great leader. Moreover, our group decided to interview Hon. Mauricio Domogan, the current Mayor of Baguio City, Philippines. He has been elected and occupied several positions in the City for 24 years from being a councilor, a city mayor, a congressman and back to being a city mayor. Aside from the interview, we had researched on the qualities of a good leader and compiled all the important details in this website. We hope that our website will serve as a basis for those who are occupying government offices to be leaders in their own ways so that a better future will be achieved. Furthermore, we hope to inspire young and budding leaders to pursue their dreams in serving people and to work hand in hand

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:more than 6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:2-3

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We are four in the group; we find it difficult to find some time to meet the important person to be interviewed. Sometimes we forgot to finish our research in this subject because of having lots of requirements to be done on other subjects. However, we tried our best to manage our time wisely in order to finish our output.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We are Louisians, the adherent of the four core values namely creativity, competence, socially involvement and Christian spirit. Applying the concepts and facts that we had learned during our T.H.E classes, our minds are applying these lessons to accomplish our project on time. From the basic HTML codes up to the complex ones we are tasked to finish our requirements with high standards.
