2. Summary of Our Project

Our web is about Vietnamese typical cuisines. We would like to introduce Vietnamese food and cakes to people in the world. In this website one can learn how to make Vietnamese traditional food and know more about our culture. The reason why we choose the web project topic on Arts and Culture is that our school has held a cooking competition. In this competition, each class made typical cakes or food in Viet Nam. I saw our friends did very well. We learned a lot from that competition. We also hope that many people know about our culture. Therefore, we decided to make a website project on the framework of Doors to diplomacy on this topic. In order to be successful in our web project, we did research on Internet and library. we also interview our relatives, teachers and some experts in our fields. In this site, poeple can learn more about Vietnam Arts and cultures.

6. How did your activities and research for this Doors to Diplomacy Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our project’s goal is to bring knowledge and information about Vietnam’s Arts and culture. During the working process for our Doors to Diplomacy project, We gained lots of skills and knowledge. Our confidence has been improved much as we realized how much we can do if we are active and motivated. We aslo learned a special experience of working in group and collaboration. We worked and shared ideas together. Each person in groups supported each other. Moreover, we learned more about our culture and other countries because we have searched and shared a lot. Besides, our English has been improved . We gained lots of computer skills as well, such as creating webs and effective researching information. Finally, we would like to say that working on this project showed us advantages of modern methods of teaching and learning. As we were allowed to create website on what we were interested in and to put the material that we considered was useful and interesting, which opened the doors of our fantasy and We were really motivated and hard-working because we were doing what we like. Therefore, we found that working on such kind of web projects is much more interesting and attractive than traditional methods of learning and teaching. Thanks to Doors to Diplomacy, we have a good place to show our creativity.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?

we had to use many information tools and technologies to finish our Doors to Diplomacy project. First, we use computers to create website and search information and communicate with each other. Second, some software is used to collect and store information such as microsofl office. The wonderful tool is my digital camera which is full made full use of to take photos and capture videos. So tools of information and technology are so useful and effective that we could complete our website.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.

Culture is an integral part in a country and gives typical personality to their people. We hope that we are an 'ambassador” of our culture. Through this website the students at our school and people in the world will get to know more about Vietnam Arts and culture. We are going to introduce the website to our classmates and colleagues, and other schools. This can be a good site for students and teachers to share and learn. They can also upload interesting and useful information on the site. We hope that more people in every corner of the world will visit this site to learn, share and leave comments to make the website fullfil.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Our project had a great influence on other people. Under our project we held a cooking competition at our school to welcome the internation women day. We planned and discussed together to give the rules of the the competition. All students in our school were eager and excited about this outdoor activity. They tried their best to make the best cakes. The competition was a great success because we were surprised at our students’ performance, they are very cute and creative.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

To fullfil this website, we received a great help from people around us. I would like to express my sincere thanks to our teachers who gave us useful information and guidelines. I would be appreciated the precious experience that our parents and relatives shared with us, so that we could write the contents of the website. We don’t know much about the recipes of our traditional food and cakes. Thanks to their information, we get to know more about our culture. Moreoever, our classmates and friends give comments on what we write and they also collect information for us.
