Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Ashanti Region, the second national capital is our community, it is known for it's rich cultural background

2. Summary of Our Project

Well, it was about our cultural heritage in the Ashanti region(our community) that we feel will be good if the world and our fellow students get to know.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

We do not have internet connection in our school and or in our various home, the only option is to go to internet cafe to do research and to download relevant materials.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We had a break in our system due to virus from the web, and our pen drive got lost some time ago, it was by chance and luck that our of our teachers helped us with his pen drive to continue our work.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We realized that we were even learning Social studies which is part of our course work in school, as the topics we researched on provides us with details.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used Microsoft Frontpage and html to edit our pages.It was the first time the students got to learn html and also to use Frontpage.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Well, after the work on our project was done, many students approached my class students and asked many question like how they were able to bring up such an idea to talk about Ashanti and how they did it.so many answers were given to them.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

It rejuvinated many youth as to how to have and learn more about their community, many of the students, were so curious and wanted to be part of cyberfair. Many parents also congratulated the students for a wonderful work.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

A lot of people helped us in one way or the other, particularly our students got help from one teacher when our pen drive got lost.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

It was the first time we learnt how to design or got the basic knowledge of web design.
