Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Enyang District Yinjia town is located in the the junction of Ba town, Yi town and Lang town the three three counties, where has beautiful scenery. In August last year, the village official Zhang Xuemei in Dayakou village Yin Jia townwas suffering from cancer, but she still insisted on working, during Chemotherapy time, she was still worried about the villagers, and wrote a letter to party secretary, urged the leadership to pay attention to DaYakou village at a convenient time, the matter has aroused strong repercussions... After much investigation, we further knew the story of this 'example'.

2. Summary of Our Project

Through our many personally visits to the DaYakou village, to better understand Xue Mei's moving deeds, further understanding the ordinary but great 'celebrity'... Through understanding Xue Mei in many aspects, we feel a lot and gain more.

Our school is using an ADSL modem go connect to the Internet, 5 members do not access to the web at home, there are only three computers have Internet access in the school office, and the computer configuration is very low, the internet speed is particularly slow. Students have no computer room, so under the guidance of the teacher, most of the contents on the website are finished in spare time with the computer of the teacher's office.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Difficulties: The school computer network speed is slow; the students are not familiar with the graphics processing, Webpage production is also quite strange; Team activity time is seriously insufficient. Solution: to mobilize all resources to find information online; learn to use, to ask the teacher; make full use of weekend and the extracurricular activities Knowledgeable: as long as you are willing to use the brain, there's always a way; through the study, we can quickly grasp the essentials of graphics processing; We must arrange activities carefully ;

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Although sister Xue Mei is just an ordinary college student village official, she do not care about personal gains and losses, have the courage to play, willing to sacrifice, and like to help others, even if she got the cancer, she never forgot for the sake of others, she is a good example for us to learn, and she is Yin people's pride. Through the communication with the villagers in Wu village, we have a more profound understanding on the side of the 'celebrity'. Although our strength is weak, all aspects of the level is not high, we have transferred the selfless courage of Xue Mei to the world friends. In more than 60 days, we worked together for a common goal, although we were very hard, we get more joy! I believe that through our efforts, we will have a deeper understanding on our side model - Xue Mei!

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In the process of our research, we visited many villagers, local officials and celebrities etc in Da Yakou village. We also shared our experience with all the students. Most importantly, we want to let more people know touching stories ofXue Mei, understanding the stories behind the 'celebrity', deeply understand Xue Mei's courage to bear and unselfish devotion, and take her as our example, to be a good citizen of the new era.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

If without our study, our classmates including many people in our hometown just know a little about Xue Mei and her deeds. Through our study, we share the achievements with students and people in our hometown, let them know 'celebrity' in my hometown, understanding example in our side, and more understanding the charm of Xue Mei .

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our material is mainly gotten through visits. DaYakou village Party branch and village and civil affairs departments Comrade Yuan Jiaxiang provides a lot of information to us, especially the related pictures about Zhang Xuemei, at the same time, he also told us a lot of stories about Xue Mei when accepting our interview. Some villagers were also involved in our interview, school students communicated the results with us. Of course, the teacher gave us a lot of guidance.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the course of the study, we found that it was not easy to deeply research a project. We've grown in Yinjia town, and there are only three or four miles apart from Da yakou village, we just knew a little about Zhang Xuemei before...... But we did not know the story behind Xue Mei. Now we will go to further understand and study this hidden story, and we really found a lot of things that we did not know before, such as she gave up the munificent treatment in the big city, resolutely decided to return to her hometown, overcame difficulties, Let DaYakou villagers become richer and richer...... Through the visit, we also see, villagers in DaYakou village have deep feelings with Xue Mei , this friendship can not be gotten by general village official, Xuemei really takes the villagers as her relations, and we hope that more people can understand and learn this kind of spirit through this project, let more people learn from the examples around us, do our best to build our own home! Of course, our biggest harvest is further understanding the good and noble quality of Xue Mei .
