Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Jie Pai Village (also known as Shahuiping, Shaniuping, Cheng Village) located in Sichuan province through (River) and at the junction of Bazhong, the area is 8.2 square kilometers, there are 5 residents groups, 279 households and 1056 people. Qinba road walks through ten kilometers, natural and humanities history is long, the culture is splendid. 'a terrain of strategic importance, the god was flying in the cloud”; 'Cheng Village hugged with Tai Chi, the sun and moon reinforces vital energy” fill the vitality and radiance of human history. Jiepai village in accordance with the 'strong culture village, rich village, village tourism industry' ideas, adjust the industrial structure, cultivate and develop raise rural industry, in 2014, built 500 acres of Asparagus Industry Park, take a new road of rapid development of agricultural industrialization, promote the new rural construction, formed a good pattern of village with the comprehensive development.

2. Summary of Our Project

We repeatedly personally visited Shahui Ping, to better understand the local history culture, visited the Neolithic relics, ancient buildings, ancient tombs, ancient village, ancient temples, ancient statues, Cooper group, ancient battlefield sites, Qinba road and other cultural relics more than 50 attractions, walking in Jiepai Red Army martyrs cemetery, standing in the Village Museum, further feel our happy life today is not easily won, it is the results of several generations of hard struggle. We show our harvests on the internet, let more young people to accept local sages culture, red culture, folk culture, traditional culture and education revolution, spreading the local rural culture and tourism, so that people around the world know that this is our hometown, this is also a way to love homeland.

Our school has no networked classroom, and every team member has no computer at home. There are only three computers in our school which are low configuration. The on-campus Internet is local broadcasting broadband with a bad connection. In teacher office took a break Making Webpage-making to be done with teacher’s help.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

From the topic to the activities, we met a lot of troubles, because we usually stay in the 'ivory tower', and use to live'two line' life, so we have a little time to contact with the outside world, and the collected data is limited. Thanks to the guidance of the teacher's, we find the direction and power. The school computers were less, we can surf online in the spare time of teacher, and the speed is slow, so we make full use of extracurricular time searching for information on the internet. We will ask the teacher when we are not familiar with image processing software and web pages making. Along the way, we have felt a lot, but we think that there must be more ways than troubles, as long as you can bear hardships and stand hard work, willing to use our brains, all of the difficulties can be overcome.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Although there are a lot of troubles in this activity, we benefit a lot. By participating in this activity, we have a better understanding of the local red history and culture, and we are proud the people who join the red army. Although we can not promote local Red Army culture totally, we will try our best to carry forward the spirit of the Red Army, to spread the Red Army culture, let more compatriots to receive patriotic education, strive for the prosperity of the motherland and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We have more time and opportunity to contact the computer and Webpage making, to make image processing by ourselves, we have learned the knowledge and skills that we never learned on the textbooks.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Hardware: computer, camera, cell-phone, DV, U disk, scanner Software: Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop CS, Word, Windows

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In the course of the study, we have personally visited Shahui Ping for many times, to better understand the rich local culture, visited a local old man (who is witness of Sha Hui Ping History) and the villagers to understand the local history and culture, there are some things that we obtained from the Internet, because refers to the local rural culture, there is a little on network and newspapers. We got a lot from the publication of the two book 'Qinba road', ' five golden flowers of Sha Hui Ping '. At the same time, the students thought a lot of ways and spend a lot of time to collect a lot of information to enrich the content of the page in the township government and the local people. We just want to share the resources to more than 600 teachers and students, so that they can understand the local history and culture, by traditional culture education, further feel our happy life today is the result of bloody predecessors. Tell them to cherish the happy life, get rid of bad habits such as spoiled, learn to cherish the happiness of life, thrift, self motivated, striving to be the local cultural heritage, to study hard, with practical action to serve the motherland, repay the society, build the home!

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

If we don't have the time to study and propaganda, classmates beside us and many people in our hometown will know little for Shahuiping on the Qingling-Ba Road. Through our research, we share the results of our study with them, let them understand the local culture, and love their hometown, find the traditional culture around them was so inspiring.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our materials are mainly obtained through the internet, interviews, field shooting and visits. Local Literature Department and the museum provided a lot of information to us. The local people told us many moving story about Shahuiping’s legends and the first battle when Red army entered Sichuan when they accepted our interviews. School leaders, teachers and students actively cooperate with us, provide the venue, to arrange time to share our results. In the whole process of research activities, thank the teacher gave us a lot of careful guidance and help.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the course of the study, we found that we had grown up, and at the same time, we know it is not easy to learn new knowledge and skill, to change their original thinking and way of life is not easy, and to study a project deeply is more difficult. We were dare to communicate with the people at the first to go out of the school. Although we met a lot of troubles, fools rush in where angels fear to tread, we benefit a lot after trying a lot. Through this activity, the vision of our these 'to pay no attention to outside matters' students have been enlarged, as long as we personally involved, we can also do some things successfully, it not only can help you understanding the culture revolution, but also help us accepting education, we felt happy and proud, we also feel the magic charm of the network, to learn how to obtain and choose the effective information from the network. In the topic research process, we solved the troubles together, and we feel the strength of the team, know how to appreciate and encourage each other, and we deeply feel that unity is strength.
