Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Qingchuan county is located in the northern edge of Sichuan basin, the county covers an area of 329 square kilometers, is located in the northwest of Guangyuan City, north of Gansu Province, east of Shaanxi Province, west of Pingwu County, south of Oil City Linjiang, known as the 'cock provinces', 'Golden Triangle' said. Qingchuan natural scenery is beautiful with picturesque, forest, mountains, river, clouds, field, ecological environment and pleasant climate. Qingchuan is still retains the traditional farming methods of labor, such as donkey horse mill, cattle farming land, trolley, mill, picking tea, tofu, crabs, fishing nets, catch ducks, grazing cattle and sheep and so on, full of rich flavor of life, all the people came here will be intoxicated.

2. Summary of Our Project

The topic of before competition was local tourism resources, show Qingchuan tourism scenic area special scenery and charm, this time we decided to choose the local characteristics of Qingchuan specialty, so that we can more fully understand Qingchuan. Qingchuan is richly endowed by nature geographical environment has brought forth a lot of pure natural products, such as: letinous edodes, fungus, bamboo fungus, Tianma, honey, with so many choices, through the analysis and discussions of the team, finally in October 5, 2016 selected the honey which is the 'flowers of the sperm, beauty medicine', and with simple and distinctive 'Qingchuan honey' as the subject to take part in competition. Through the production of this project, I hope more people understand the local characteristics of Qingchuan specialty, taste Qingchuan, honey, and look forward to more Chinese and foreign friends with family and friends to come to Qingchuan, away from the hustle and bustle of big city flashy, roam the landscape, tasted the delicacy in Qingchuan, we are waiting for you in Qingchuan!

Reconstruction assistance provided by country and Zhejiang Province, our school has 5 computer classrooms with more than 200 computers. On Oct, 2011, we accessed to the web by 10M fiber-optic telecom networks. Computer course was set up and it's very convenience for students to use.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

First time, on the journey to collect folk customs, we went to Qingxi old town from school by bus, it suddenly began to rain when we set off on half an hour. Views were rained, and the road was no good; it was rough and full of holes, we arrived at Qingxi after having a very rough trip. Local beekeeper took us to a private bee gardens, it was a long way up to there and the road was muddy because it rained. We had a hard time on our way. Difficulties in interview: It was our first time to carry out social practice out of campus. We had no experience in interview, didn’t know what kind of people were suitable for asking question, and very tense, it made interviewees suspicious of us, they excused for declining to be interviewed. Coming back, through our summary and study, we took the prepared questions in the second time, we had a generous and friendly communication with local residents, and we felt gratified that the effect was very good. Production difficulties: because it is the first time to participate in, project production process arrangements are not reasonable, such as because we didn’t determine the site columns, so we didn’t know how to make the data and interview records, classification was not in order, causing great distress;

5. Our Project Sound Bite

' To see a world in a wild flower,” bees create miracles with its hard work, let the flower fragrance floated into our hearts, let the sweet honey into our taste buds, let us feel the taste of happiness. The mountain flowers thank the bees to sip the honey, we should thank and awe of the magic of nature, so that we can taste the food set the essence of heaven and earth. Thanks to this platform, let us go out of the school, take the knowledge into practice flexibility; thanks to this project, let us get exercise and rapid growth; thanks to two teachers, we successfully completed the project and benefit from a strong team; thank you, let us feel the a powerful force of unity and cooperation.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The school offers many courses: Windows 7, Office Word 2010, Flash, photoshop, FrontPage, AdobeDreamweaver and so on, we learned the computer operating system, Office software last semester, we are learning Photoshop, AdobeDreamweaver this semester, these courses are independent subjects, we have not learned them together, this CyberFair project gave us an opportunity to learn. In the finishing material, we learned how to import photos from the camera inside to the computer; in the initial use of the recording pen, when we used the recording pen, we were puzzled with the buttons, through learning, we can took the records on the computer; in text typesetting, learn to combine text with pictures together, and proficient in image processing. This project not only exercises our writing and communication skills, but also made us use the knowledge flexible, although in the process, encountered many difficulties and challenges, under the guidance of teacher and with the encouragement and help of teammates, we completed the project perfectly.

Hardware: Voice Recorder: used as flash cards, Mobile HDD: collecting data, Mobile phone: communicate with one another, computer: typing, editing and upload file, Digital camera: take photos, Adsl: Information searching Software: Word processing, Picture processing, Web browsing, Image browsing

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Qingchuan is located in the provinces interchange, with unique geographical advantages in resources, and many wild species are kept by it, pleasant climate contains many natural organic food, mainly to build the ecological tourism in Qingchuan after the earthquake, so in this CyberFair project we will play a promotional publicity ambassador, we called for nature protection and scientific development, cherish the original ecological environment existing, so that more people can eat natural food without pollution, let the busy people in big city can make 'stomach' finally keep a cushy nature in the haze days, while enjoying the delicacy, feeling extraordinary as if done by the spirits of nature.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

(1) the project participants, although propaganda honey which is a special one in Qingchuan, it also affects the development and promotion of other specialty in Qingchuan, our seriously spirit infected with the personnel of relevant departments, they vigorously cooperate to participate in our project, and promised to do Qingchuan specialty well, ensure the original natural ecology. (2) in the project publicity, beekeepers and local residents were surprised for our visit, in the interview, reveals enthusiasm and dismay for us, they worked with bees day and night in the depths of the mountains, only to let more people enjoy the pure honey, let more people know Qingchuan honey. (3) the project gives the local specialty products for the publicity, local residents are very grateful to our publicity, actively cooperate with our interview, many tourists are attracted to buy honey, driving household incomes and local economic development. (4) production of this project, let us have the opportunity to go out of the school, went into the depths of the mountains to hear the bee, feel fine professional spirit of honey bee farmers picking process, but also exercise our ability of writing and learning ability of cooperative communication.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

(1) the local guide us, tell us whether the road ahead is unimpeded. (2) local staff led us to the apiary shooting and travel. (3) the local people are eager to tell us about the unique features of the honey bee and the uniqueness of the honey bee. (4) the relevant person in charge of the local government, bee farmers provide us relevant information, eager to introduce us to the wonderful process of honey bees. (5) local residents and businessmen actively cooperate with our interviews, tell us about the benefits and effects of a variety of honey, and teach us to identify the true and false honey.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

(1) in the project process, in order to play the actual role, we also found that the knowledge must be combined into practice; we discovered through this project activities, our observation ability, study ability, communication ability has been improved; we found the importance of teamwork, the team's help and encouragement has supported our progress. (2) We grew up in Qingchuan, every day walking in between hills and rivers, eating food provided by nature, often eating bread with honey, but we did not find that how precious and wonderful of the Qingchuan wild honey, different varieties of honey have different effect, drink a cup of honey water every day, not only become beauty and can promote the body's metabolism. (3) In the process of collecting material, because the team did not make a clear division of labor in the original plan and schedule, so there are a lot of repeated work, and in normal learning, some knowledge is not familiar, flexibility is not enough, so we have to spend more time.
