Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Although Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) operates globally, the role of MSF in Taiwan is also significant. In addition to its well-known international humanitarian work, addressing issues related to migrant workers is also a major part of MSF's mission. Therefore, choosing MSF as the project theme is not only about introducing its international relief efforts but also about supporting its work with migrant workers in Taiwan.

2. Summary of Our Project

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, is an international medical humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical care to those affected by conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. While MSF does not have a permanent operational presence in Taiwan, it engages with Taiwanese communities through advocacy, fundraising, and recruitment efforts. MSF Taiwan supports global missions by raising awareness of humanitarian crises, encouraging donations, and recruiting medical and non-medical professionals to join MSF's international projects. Additionally, MSF often collaborates with local organizations and universities to promote humanitarian values and global health issues.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Challenges We Overcame

During our project, we encountered challenges in material selection, teamwork, and time management.

Finding suitable materials that matched our artistic vision while remaining practical and cost-effective was difficult. Through research and testing, we explored different options and adjusted our approach to maintain both quality and feasibility.

Collaborating as a team also had its difficulties, as diverse perspectives sometimes led to disagreements. To resolve this, we held structured discussions, actively listened to each other, and found compromises that incorporated everyone’s strengths.

Time management was another hurdle, especially with academic responsibilities. To stay on track, we created a detailed timeline and divided tasks efficiently, ensuring consistent progress without overwhelming anyone.

By approaching these challenges with teamwork, flexibility, and strategic planning, we successfully completed our project while gaining valuable problem-sol...

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Participating in the International Schools CyberFair was a valuable experience for our students, school, and community. It provided a platform to showcase our creativity, teamwork, and research while fostering a deeper understanding of global issues. Through this project, students developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strengthened their collaboration, and gained a sense of responsibility toward social impact. This opportunity not only connected us with a wider audience but also inspired us to continue making meaningful contributions to societ

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

1. Which content standards did your CyberFair project address?

2.Promote data collection and improve English skills. 3.When visiting others, how should you maintain eye contact with them. What small details should you tell others when assigning tasks. How can you relax when facing pressure. 4. What group concepts did you practice? When assigning work, I initially only told them how to format the layout and the font size. As for the photos, I thought they could just adjust them based on their intuition to a similar size, assuming there wouldn't be much difference from mine. However, in the end, everyone placed photos of different sizes, which caused me a lot of trouble. This experience taught me that when communicating, even the smallest details must be clearly explained; otherwise, everyone will end up struggling in the end. 5.By actively asking questions and patiently listening, you can understand the other person's specific thoughts. Moreover, this process requires multiple rounds of mutual communication to be truly effective. There’s no need to worry about bothering them—they very willing to answer your questions. In contrast, making mistakes would actually cause them trouble. 6.Doctors Without Borders is a world-renowned international organization, with even a branch in Taiwan. We are very curious about it—not only about how the organization operates but also about what unique actions it takes in Taiwan. 7.What discoveries did you make about your educational system? About the role you play in your school community?

8. I think online teaching is indeed more convenient than traditional …

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

1.How did these tools help you? These tools help us document the interview process and integrate it into a project. 2.Where did you locate each tool? These tools are things we regularly use, so we just organized them a bit and put them to use. 3.Were any tools donated by businesses or schools? No, they are all our own things. 4.What were your most valuable tools? Why? Oral interviews, because without them, we wouldn't be able to obtain valuable firsthand information. 5.Which technologies were the most helpful? How? Computer software, such as using Word and various research tools, allows us to better improve and complete this project.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

1.In what ways did your students act as 'ambassadors' and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person. At first, we did some preliminary research through the Doctors Without Borders website. Since we were conducting an interview, it was better to ask more in-depth questions. Next, we wrote down the questions we wanted to ask and had our teacher review them. After multiple discussions and refinements, we finally completed the final version. The day before the interview, we practiced making eye contact, which I believe is a very important and useful skill—not only for interviews but also for future careers.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Currently, this project has not been promoted to the community.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

In this project, every assistant was a classmate, and everyone participated voluntarily. Work was assigned through group distribution—some groups were responsible for fact-checking, some conducted interviews, and others organized the collected information.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

This project introduces Doctors Without Borders. During our research, we discovered that it was founded many years ago. Previously, we thought it was a newly established organization in recent years, but we were surprised to learn that it has a long history.
