Description of Our Community: The surrounding communities of these sites certainly bear the marks of their own pasts. With the Clarke Museum in Pampanga, there is a strong American cultural influence to be felt, an indication of the past use of the place as an airbase. To Kawit, Cavite, the Aguinaldo Mansion community is characterized by a persistent nationalist sentiment, strongly rooted in the revolutionary past. To Malolos, Bulacan, the Barasoain Church and the Museum of Philippine Political History (Casa Real Shrine) are both situated within a community that takes great pride in its role within the First Philippine Republic, actively working towards the preservation of its heritage. Intramuros in Manila is a living mix of history and urban living, while the varied assemblages of Luneta Park are a manifestation of the nation's shared identity, a community center where people from various backgrounds converge.

Project Description: This learning tour provides a chronological exploration of major events in Philippine history, from the period of revolution to the post-colonial aftermath and the founding of the republic. Through the exploration of relevant sites such as the Aguinaldo Mansion, Barasoain Church, Intramuros, and Luneta Park, students acquire a deeper appreciation of the historical background of the country and its lasting impact on contemporary society, while the Clarke Museum sheds light on the more recent American impact on the Philippines.
