Description of Our Community: Tamsui is located at the northern tip of Taiwan, surrounded by mountains and the sea, with beautiful scenery and a rich cultural heritage. Since the 17th century, it has been an important port in northern Taiwan, witnessing the historical transitions of the Dutch, Spanish, Qing, and Japanese periods. Fort San Domingo, a landmark from the Dutch era, symbolizes Tamsui’s early international trade and cultural exchange. During the Qing dynasty, Tamsui Port became a key gateway for foreign commerce and contributed to the development of education and religion, as seen in the establishment of Oxford College and Tamsui Church. Today, Tamsui blends history with modernity, featuring renowned attractions such as Fort San Domingo, Tamsui Old Street, and Fisherman’s Wharf. With its well-preserved historical buildings and traditional markets, Tamsui continues to radiate a distinctive cultural charm and vibrant human spirit.
Project Description: Mr. Ji Wen-Hao was born into a diligent merchant family and grew up between Taipei and Tamsui, witnessing the transformation of Taiwanese society and the resilience of everyday life. Under his father’s strict guidance and business influence, he developed a character of perseverance, integrity, and ambition. In his adulthood, he founded Weihao Company in Tamsui, where he applied steady management and innovative thinking to cultivate local industry, becoming a key figure in the region’s business community. As chairman of the board at Tamkang High School, he has long been dedicated to advancing education and youth development, while actively participating in charitable and community activities at the Tamsui Golf Course to foster cultural and social connections. His life embodies the hardworking spirit of the Taiwanese people, symbolizing integrity, diligence, and family heritage, while reflecting the dynamic harmony of tradition and modernity in Tamsui.
