Description of Our Community: In my hometown, there is an important river called the Zhuoshui River. It is like a mother who nurtures our land, bringing abundant nutrients to the soil and making it fertile enough to grow high-quality crops. For example, we have nutritious black rice and guavas that help people stay healthy and catch fewer colds.

In addition, my hometown is home to a century-old kapok tree. Every spring when it blooms, the bright red flowers sway gently in the wind, just like a dancer gracefully performing. The kapok tree is also very useful. For instance, kapok flower tea is known for its cooling and detoxifying effects.

Moreover, every few years there is a special Mazu tradition called “crossing the Zhuoshui River.” During this event, Mazu crosses the river and comes to my hometown to bless us with good fortune and bring peace and safety.

Project Description: I have participated in the “Flowers in Changhua” festival. It is held every year during the Lunar New Year at Xizhou Park. During the event, I can see many colorful flowers. They are carefully arranged into different shapes and designs, which makes everything look dazzling and beautiful.

Besides enjoying the flowers, visitors can also taste delicious guavas, play fun games such as mud tug-of-war and mud dodgeball, and watch various performances. These activities make the festival very exciting and enjoyable. The most special part is that visitors can also visit the unique Retired Cattle Sanctuary in Xizhou.

Since Xizhou Township has such a wonderful event, we hope more people can get to know our hometown. ??
